For our physics final project me and my partner chose to do it on something that isn't really a real world problem. Rather it is more of an informational that helps people understand that something that seems like such a small and easy task in a game played around the world has to do with physics. It may be an easy task how ever physics greatly impacts it.

JOURNAL #2

In the sport of basketball someone watching  who doesn't know anything about the game may think that the sport seems extremely difficult, but someone who plays the sport may think of it a little easier. Making a shot may seem extremely difficult even to some professional athletes in the sport of basketball. For example Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard or known for having a very low free throw percentage. To some people the task may seem hard but however there are other people who seem to have mastered the art of a jump shot people such as Stephen Curry who has a free throw average of 93.2%. So if you were to have him shoot 100 free throw shots he will make 93 of them. He knows that physics plays a huge role in basketball. He is an overall excellent shooter because he has been able to find what seems a perfect arc. An arc is the shape that is made when you shoot a basketball. He is able to constantly able to find the perfect arc which of course has to do with physics. There are forces acting on the ball when you shoot it. "What goes up must come down"-Sir Isaac Newton.

JOURNAL #3

So far we have been on track with our topic we have the data just the video evidence didn't seem right at all. There was technical errors from the video and so we have to retake it. We are hoping to retake it by next week and besides that we are looking good. Both me and my partner have very busy schedules weather it be sports or family or other tutorials but when we had the chance to meet up we both worked hard and worked together. Once we fix the technical errors and have our videos that will put us in good shape.

Project Ideas

  • To test the diffrence of arc on the outcome of the percentage make or miss.

  • To test the diffrence in accelration/ power to make the perfect bounce pass

  •  To test the speed percentage that the ball looses during the bounce

  • Test the speed drop between each dribble.
