Research Question
How Does the Bounce Of A Basketball Affect The Speed Of The Basketball?

Data and Information

Summary:
Data shows a Definant decrease in speed after the ball bouncees one time.

Error Analysis
In our data for the most part it seemed consistent through out our trials. However it wasn't always constant our last trial it was very different and at first we weren't sure why it was different. But then we realized that you had to make sure everything was constant the distance from the camera the video length and that strength used to throw the bounce pass. One variable we didn't control to the best possible ability, is the strength in the pass, which we realized is impossible unless we used a contraption to shoot/fire a ball at the same speed. so instead we decided to keep using human error/strength to our advantage and use the different strength used to pass the ball to our advantage and to be applied to everyday basketball physics. You also have to try and bounce the ball in the same area because if you don't then you might not get the entire bounce pass and it might only part of the bounce pass. We thought that maybe we shouldn't just count that trial and say we only did 9 instead of 10 but we decided to keep it so that gives us something to learn from this lab. It also gives us a chance to work on error analysis which is a skill we need. So we came to a conclusion that the error in this lab was due to human error due to being in consistent with the strength behind the bounce pass. However the next steps in this lab to make it even more precise and accurate is that since we were dealing with speed we could of possibly used a radar gun, basketball shooter to see how they use in baseball to time and see how much speed the ball decreases as it bounces and to keep the ball at a constant speed with minimal variables.
